How to easily Remove the Virus / Spyware - Anti-virus XP 2008 from your system without using any Anti-Virus Softwares

Recently, one of our systems got attacked by a rather nasty Virus / Spyware called by a rather unusual name "Anti-virus XP 2008" sometimes also comes with the other names as XP Antivirus 2009 and variations of those names like WinFixer, WinIFixer, and Zlob. Below are simple steps on how you can remove this without installing an Anti-Virus.

First you need to stop the program from loading on startup. This is how you can stop it:
  • Goto Start > run
  • Then Type msconfig and hit enter
  • In the resulting screen, goto Startup tab
  • Uncheck lphc35dj0e1an
  • Uncheck rhc75dj0e1an
  • Click apply, then ok
  • Finally, Restart the computer

Then you need to delete the main files that this Malware program uses.
So, go ahead and Delete the following files:
  • C:\windows\system32\lphc35dj0e1an.exe
Also, Delete the following folder and all contents:
  • C:\program files\rhc75dj0e1an

This should remove the program from your system but you probably still have a warning message displayed as your wallpaper in Windows and the virus removed the ability to change the wallpaper or your desktop settings.

To restore the ability to change your desktop settings and select a different wallpaper and screen saver do the following:
  • Click Start then run
  • Then type Gpedit.msc
  • Now navigate to User configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Display
  • Finally, Right click on Remove Display in Control Panel
  • Click on Properties and then select as Disabled

Do the same steps to change the following attributes to disabled too:
  • Hide Desktop Tab
  • Prevent changing wallpaper
  • Hide Apperance and Themes tab
  • Hide Settings tab
  • Hide Screen Saver tab

You should now be able to use your computer normally and change the wallpaper to something other than the warning message Antivirus XP 2008 had actually set it to.

Who really Owns Kashmir ? An introspection

Before I start this article, let me tell you that this is indeed "The Most Authoritative Technology Blog" and I speak all about the fascinating technologies that I come across and things that simplify our lives. Once in a while, I do post articles on things that aren't anyway related to technology - so this one happens to be one of them. Secondly, I am no politico-influenced geek , so the things I have written below must not be mis-understood to be in favor of a particular geography or otherwise.

So, you may thing why Jason is writing all this huge disclaimer before a post - well, as you know our Blog family of readers here has been steadily growing and I have been very fortunate to make good friends from across the globe. At times an article I may post may be taken in a wrong sense by a few of my beloved readers.

This morning I was jostled by an e-mail from my good friend and our long time blog reader Dr. Divaker. It was an excerpt from a very ingenious speech given by an Indian representative in the recent United Nations Assembly. It serves as a very good example on how one can make the staunchest of the politicos think otherwise and also bring smiles to the world community (which currently seems a bit difficult given the geo-political equations and events that occur).

The Indian representative begins his speech as follows:
Before beginning my talk I want to tell you something about Rishi Kashyap of Kashmir, after whom Kashmir is named.

When Rishi Kashyap struck a rock and it brought forth water, he thought, 'What a good opportunity to have a bath.'

He removed his clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the water.

When he got out and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished. A Pakistani had stolen them.

The Pakistani representatives jumped up furiously. But then in support of Pakistan, he shouted, 'What are you talking about? The Pakistanis weren't there then.'

The Indian representative smiled and said, 'And now that we have made that clear, I will begin my speech.'

The above speech should serve as an inspiration for people who stay on both sides of the border. As you all know, India and Pakistan are shell locked in a fiery battle(that has even resulted in a few wars / war like situations) over the region of Kashmir. But at the heart of it all, it is the common man who finds a livelihood in this region that suffers.

So, does the above lines say that Pakistan was not formed when Kashmir was formed? Well, certainly not - the people of Pakistan were always there - under a nation of Greater India or maybe even the early civilizations. Well, both the nations must bury the hatchet behind and progress to develop the region to serve as a role model for the rest of the world.

Hope I wasn't politicing or hurting anybody's feelings - if so, I apologize.

Glico Pocky, Lipton milk tea powder recalled in HK, Macau over chemical

Anglo-Dutch company Unilever has recalled brands of Lipton milk tea powder in Hong Kong and Macau after they were found tainted with an industrial chemical, according to Channel News Asia http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp_asiapacific/view/379449/1/.html.

Tests on Glico Pocky Mens Coffee Cream Coated Biscuit Sticks shows it contains a level of melamine 17 times the legal limit. The other two items are a coconut cake and a walnut cake manufactured by Zhongshan City Tian Le Yuan Foods which are respectively seven times and 48 percent over the limit, according to http://www.thestandard.com.hk/breaking_news_detail.asp?id=7018&icid=3&d_str=20080930

New age SEXY wedding photo, can you accept? (PART I)

These are some very new age, modern, and sexy wedding photos, I not sure how many people can accept it. Even the bride ok, I think the groom will not be ok. Even the couple ok, but I doubt the mother-in-law can accept. But anway... I am not the one going to take, so need not worry all these questions, for those who are intersted, really got to think careful and ask advise from more people.....

Sometimes I really curious how those people take such photos. I mean the photographer usually is a guy right? If she is a girl of course no problem, but what happen if the photographer is a guy? Well. I mean during the photo taking session, cannot be you holding the flower cover up all the time right? And one more issue is.... how to show these wedding photos to your kids next time in the future..... haha.. am I thinking too much?

The photos can be found at: http://singaporeagnestan.blogspot.com/2008/10/new-age-wedding-photos-full-set-of.html

Cadbury chocolates containminated... M&M, Oreo not sure....

British candy maker Cadbury said Monday it is recalling 11 types of Chinese-made chocolates found to contain melamine. These chocolate products were distributed in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia.

Separately, Kraft Foods, the maker of Oreo cookies, and Mars, the maker of M&Ms and Snickers candy, said they believe Indonesian authorities were mistaken when they announced they had found melamine in samples of their products made in China.

Taiwan TVBS pretty reporter Liao Yingting 主播廖盈婷 says: "Nuts! How is it possible that Ah Bian would take that money out ... Go eat shit!" (神經病,阿扁怎麼可能拿那錢出來…吃大便!). Translation Joke Continue.....

Here we continue some of the translation joke... I think the best one is the 2nd one.. "if you are stolen....." and of course the last one..... "take your children fall into water"

I think this reminds us that sometime really got to be careful on the different culture of different countries. E.g. my friend told me that, when you go to China restaurant, never call the waitress "miss 小姐", as that word means the girls that work in KTV.

Jennifer Aniston rekindle her romance w/ John Mayer?

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer datingJennifer is desperate to rekindle Aniston's romance with ex-beau John Mayer. The Bruce Almighty actress is reportedly phoning John every day in a bid to show him what he is missing, reports the China Daily.

"Jennifer reached out to John first. She had a few glasses of wine - then decided to throw caution to the wind and make the first move. John was pleasantly surprised to hear from her," a source said.

However, John Mayer seems to be more concerned about changing her lifestyle rather than getting back with her, as Jennifer Aniston has been photographed on several boozy nights with pals. Her pals are worried, as the Hollywood actress is having a tough time dealing with her split from Mayer.

"Jennifer's friends are worried. She's had a really tough time since the break-up and the more time goes on, she realises how much John still means to her," a source told the Mail Online website. "Jen just needs to be careful about not being so needy and vulnerable when it comes to men. Unfortunately, partying tends to bring that side out of her and she's a lot more appealing to John when she parties less," the source added.

How to keep your computer Clean and Fast easily?

Many a times, our computers become slow with-in weeks/months of use. The main reason being the installation of many unknown softwares, or some softwares that install other unwanted software's without our notice. There's one small utility called CCleaner which I have personally used for quite sometime with wonderful results.

CCleaner is a freeware Software. It's an excellent tool which serves different purposes like system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. What it does is that it removes all the unused files from your system making Windows to run much faster.

CCleaner also clears all the history pertaining to your online browsing. It also sports a full fledged registry cleaner.

So if you think of cleaning up your registry and speed it up the likes of which mostly only a freshly formatted and reinstalled machine would give you, this is the definitely the tool for you.

Siao one

Short post before I go sleep.

I ordered Mcdelivery.

Suddenly I received 5 smses!

Yes, I got it, you "be reching soon".

Before I even have time to read all the (grammatically incorrect) messages on my frazzled phone, he called me and announced that he is at the door.

When Mike finally got the to door, he (Mike) told me that the delivery was giving him this du lan face.

Like hello? You rushing go where sia??? Deliver more shit?

And isn't it dangerous to be sending out smses on a motorbike?

AND AND........ WHY MUST I STANDBY AT MY DOOR FOR YOU AH??? I take as long as I want to answer the doorbell, goddamn it!

Actually I am not angry lah... I'm just quite amused. Why 5 smses?

Maybe within Macs also got F1 race, then the delivery guys were all competing to see who can deliver the most McNuggets within 61 trips?

Some sources say, the stunner is looking for ways to have a child without having to rely on a man.

The bestest blog entry

With regards to my latest Plasticzilla entry, I've basically received these (bad) remarks:

1) Xiaxue you are just jealous. Because even without plastic, Dawn looks better than you.

Ans:

You are 100% right. Ok la maybe 80%, because I am not actually jealous. The point is, so? At least, I can safely say I never tried as hard as she did. :)

2) Omg you are so mean! How would you like it if someone also dug up your old ugly photos and posted them?

Ans:

Honestly, I don't care.

I don't!

You think to yourself, what the fuck man, you are just saying this because nobody has exposed your ugly photos.

In order to prove how much I don't give a shit about what you people (and that includes 30,000 of you) think of my looks, I am hereby going to show you an array of my ugliest IC photos - with a timeline from 13 years old to 23 years old.

If I don't care about what people think of my looks, why do I photoshop? Because 1) it is an art that I enjoy doing and 2) it makes ME happy to see prettier photos.

What is appearance? What is image? I cannot be arsed as long as people I love love me... shortness, squatness, lumpiness and all. As for looks, as long as the man I love is attracted to me, that's all that's enough. :) Plus,I am satisfied with the way I look! Not 100% mind you, but it's good enough.

However, just posting goddamn ugly photos does not constitute a bestest blog entry - just a mildly entertaining one.

Therefore, I am additionally going to PHOTOSHOP these horrendous photos into fake but gorgeous versions of me!! MUAHAHAHAHA

Prepare... TO BE IMPRESSED. And horrified.

Age 2

A joke lah! This is obviously not ugly.

In fact, here I am, zhao-genging happily, and I think, relatively cute!

I don't know what happened to me during teenage years to become so goddamn ugly.

How did my mother love me???

Age 13, Sec 1

Single eyelids, humongous nose, centre-parting and a flabby jawline.

To add insult to injury, there are also green ink splotches staining the picture.

Could you blame me for wanting a nose job with that nose? HONESTLY??

Photoshop magic:

Woah! Suddenly got chio blue eyes!

The eyelids are a bit fake-looking though, coz for this pic I actually DREW it on. Just to try and see how it will turn out.

Got tiara somemore!

Age 14, sec 2

Bah. My act ah-lian age.

Eyebrows shaved into a thin, straight line...

Fringe cut by myself, and one side of hair tucked behind ear. To create what look, I don't know. Maybe lop-sidedness was in?

Anyway I wore a SHIRT coz ah lians wore shirts then. :D

At this point, trying very hard to get double eyelids by sticking tape everyday.

Photoshop magic:

No more asymmetrical hair! Got ribbon somemore!

I like what I did to the lips.

Age 15, sec 3

Wah lau eh cannot stand it. Sibeh act chio.
Eyes really opened to the max.

Photoshop magic:

Nothing photoshop can do about the "act chio"ness.

The hair looks spastic but better than before...

Side by side:

Started to get bad case of acne...

Age 16, sec 4

Yikes.
Nothing photoshop can do to save this eyes-half-closed photo, you exclaim.
You are wrong!

Photoshop magic:

I had to liquify the eyes until I almost died.

Worst of the lot:

Age 16, sec 4

Greasy, sallow and pimply... I look so dirty! Reminds me of Professor Snape with the curtains of oily black hair... Eww!!

Don't blame me, blame the hormones, ok!

How come last time when I look like that still got people wanna be my friends?? Eekean!!!!!!!! *Leans close to Eekean with pulsating pimples*

Photoshop magic:

How did I do it?! I am so bloody talented!
Got healthy glow leh!!

Side by side:

Finally got out of secondary school!

Time for make-up!!

Age 17

You all saw this already.
Is it possible to save the eyes?

Photoshop magic:

Look a little startled but still much better than before!

Cloned my hair so that it doesn't look like some weird wind blew it to one side.

Side by side:

Age 18

Finally, after years of painstakingly sticking on double eyelid tape almost daily, I developed double eyelids!

I also found out about mascara and started abusing it.

ZA's foundation, however, does not seem to be able to cover my zits...

Photoshop magic:

Chio!

A few months later, with my hair a tad longer, I went back to the same place to take another picture.

Age 18

I fucking HATE my huge nose! Thank god it's like heaved into half now. I love you Dr Huang!!!

Somehow my eyebrows became nicer though, and I learned that you could shade your nose bridge... (although that didn't work out coz it made the nose look larger than godzilla's ass)

Also, I think I look like someone who will steal your husband. Why ah? Is it the chubbiness and slanty eyes?

Photoshop magic:

Much easier to edit with make up on. Reduced nose by 20000%.

Age 20

This is not an IC photo but somehow it's inside my pile of IC photos so I included it in!

Complexion cleared up and I now have long hair! Yay for long hair!

Photoshop magic:

Nothing much, just made jawline sharper and nose smaller.

Side by side:

************************************

Age 22

Still pre-nose job... Except now I have better eye make up.

What is it about IC photos that makes your nose so big??!

Photoshop magic:

Much chioer!

Age 23, Year 2008

Post nose job. I know it still looks kinda big, but it is already much smaller!!!

This is an unedited photo taken with my digicam for the purpose of my expiring passport!

I just so happened to have a glorious tan that day. Woohoo!

Photoshop magic:

Made nose smaller and jaw sharper as usual.

So... The question you all have been dying to ask me:

"HOW DID YOU DO IT?"

Pure talent! Hahaha... No lah... I mean, yes, I am awesome at photoshopping (people), but of course, 90% of the credit goes to the tool liquify!

I also use burn around the eyelids... dodge to create the "coloured" eyes. I change the hues and contrasts, and add lash and hair brushes...

For rouge on the cheeks I simply use the brush tool (colour pick the lips). See? I am so nice, I share!

Let's have a little contest!

Let me pick my ugliest photo...

Ahh.... this one:

Can you try to also photoshop this
and make it chio?!
