Trae and Guerilla Maab Join with L.E.A.P. to Feed HungryWillie D in Finland!Photos from Damage Control

Well opinions seem to be mixed on how I should post the show up here ont his here thang. I'll try to do it both ways tonight and see how it works out. Thanksgiving show should be pretty real, lots of people generally in town stopping by to see us.

But first.

Trae and company are joining forces with L.E.A.P. tomorrow (Thursday, Thanksgiving) to feed the hungry in Third Ward. Here's the official release:

Our organization, Ladies Empowering All People (L.E.A.P) along with G-Maab Entertainment, will be in the Third Ward community in Houston, TX feeding families in need on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2006. We are asking for your help to make this possible. Food or monetary donations from your establishment are greatly appreciated as we are trying to lend a hand to as many families as possible.

Leap’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of women and create a focus on those in all communities with needs. LEAP inspires, enlightens and empowers individuals to walk in their divine destiny of completeness and wholeness. This organization is designed to promote a partnership amongst women to raise an appreciation of the economic, ecological and recreational importance of everyone involved. We believe that remaining positive and looking ahead are essential parts of achieving goals.

Thank you for your support in this effort to make the difference in the lives of the less fortunate.

My boy Joro from Finland just sent me these three photos from Willie D's show in Helsinki earlier this month!

Willie D was super excited. It was his first show overseas and he got to see how people who respect the arts react when they meet a genuine artist. The club was sold out, and on the same night 50 Cent was playing across town. Someone came up to him and said "People went to see 50 Cent because he is hot right now, but this club here is sold out because you are a legend."

Two times for arts in the schools.

---------------------------------
And I plum forgot that I had taken photos at Damage Control. Then I looked at the camera and said WTF LOL LMAO STFU KIT SSS. Yep. Send.

DJ Chill cold rockin' it.

Yes I suppose I will be on another street dvd looking stupid.

This is KB, the dude who made "U Wired Up" and "Box or Get Chopped."

Unique of the Grit Boys

Scooby and Bohagon

And a better, more coherent version of the same pic.

Anyway y'all, I'm off to gorge myself with the family. Give thanks for all you've got (every day) and some of the things you don't have. That's the true meaning of this Thanksgiving horseshit. I'm not about to sit and celebrate the slaughter of a race of people, the enslaving of a race of people and the perpetual "US VS. THE BROWN PEOPLE OF THE WORLD" war thang.

I'm an Idiot

Thanks for the comments below for real. I don't know why I wrote the harsh lil paragraph below. I think I was spazzing out about something else, then looked down and was like "Man over 5000 people downloaded this thing and I can't even get 10 people to say whether or not they like the new format?" That's all, I'm an idiot. And a spazz. And if you know me, you knew that already. At least the spazz part. I tend to try and pretend to be smart in public. Anyway it seems to be split 50/50 on the show format. I'ma see how it works this week and will probably try to record it both ways. Truth is having it in three parts takes up more server space cuz those files are kind of big. What I was really wondering was did it take forever to download cuz it took forever to upload.

Anyway man, I got some shit in the works fo dat ass. The grime shows I was trying to do this week as Lady Sov after parties have been postponed till early 2007 when we can fix a proper tour. Michael Watts cancelled his three Norway gigs, so hopefully we can get those back in action in early 2007.

And as of now, I am working with Devin the Dude, Willie D of the Geto Boys, Rapid Ric, DJ Chill, Killer Mike, K-Rino and Trae on tours of Europe/Australia/New Zealand/Japan and the Orient for the first quarter of 2007. So get at me if any of that sounds interesting.

Thanks for your comments

You're a bunch of ungrateful cunts. For real. I looked at the records and the show has been downloaded 5,458 times since I uploaded the fucking thing. I asked for comments about how you like or don't like the new format and one person has commented. That's bullshit. What the fuck is wrong with the other 5,457 of you fuckers? Huh? For real that shit is bullshit.

57 Degrees Fahrenheit

Is 12 degree celcius!!! Today is not too bad, the day before was freezing subzero lor...

In Texas right now and blogging while Mike is showering.

The journey here was one of the worst 30 hours ever.

I flew from Singapore to Taipei (5 hours), Taipei to LA (10.5 hours), and LA to Vegas (1.5 hours) and Vegas to Dallas (2.5 hours), and from Dallas to this small town (1.5 hours) Mike is studying in - with like 3 hours of waiting in between each flight.

To add to that, I was sick AGAIN!

Remember those Ferrari party photos?! Well that night was pretty cold for Singapore standards, and all I wore was Shuyin's satin halter-neck dress and serves me right to get flu the next day. -_-

So anyway, one of my biggest phobias ever is to not get my luggage, and it happened!!!!!!!!

I was standing at the baggage retrival area waiting, and everyone was just taking theirs off, and it's such a small airport, can't be long till my luggage comes now... and the bloody machine stopped!!

And American Airlines lost my luggage for a whole 2 days before it was found!!!!!

Super pissed off.

When it was delivered here, one milo sachet was burst open (Eekean: "Never underestimate the power of hot milo in winter") and everything was in brown dust.

Wonderful.

But other than that, my holiday's not too bad... I wore some covered-toe shoes with socks the first day, and I was still freezing my ass off, so Mike whizzed me to Walmart, where I bought some fur-lined ugly ugg-like boots for $19!

Bloody angmohs chicks here are wearing short skirts!!! ARE THEY NOT HUMAN OR SOMETHING??

Mike brought me to Red Lobster just now, some seafood place. They served crab, but apparently in America they only serve the LEGS!

How weird is that?

Back in Singapore, I throw the legs away!

What do they do to the yummy body and claw meat? That would be the one question I will ask God when I die.

Ok, blog again when I have more pictures or something.

Last Weeks Damage Control Tribute to DJ Screw and Hawk

O.K. So admittedly it wasn't our most thorough tribute to date. No one from the SUC showed up, but to be honest I didn't get on the phone and call everyone cuz quite often a lot of the folks don't show up anyway. I also didn't want to have yet another session of people talking down on those who also make slowed down music.

I really wanted to play some classic songs from some classic Screw tapes, rather than just a bunch of flows, and also wanted to get more Hawk jams on there. We could have certainly played more Hawk.

But there was also a lot of new music that needed to be played. Download, don't stream, the show and you will hear brand new UGK featuring Kool G. Rap and Big Daddy Kane, two new Grit Boys songs - one featuring Hawk and the other featuring BG, a Grit Boys freestyle that featured Joleone from London and Great Scott, and man, just a bunch of new music.

Bohagon was in the house from Georgia and played some new music too. Peace to A-Day for bringing him down.

PEACE to my man Tim BBS who some time ago let me copy a gang of Screw tapes he had ripped to his hard drive. I have a good amount of tapes, and some CD's from the shop, but dude had some rare shit that people even called the station to find out about. Like "What tape is this from?" Unfortunately I didn't know half the time either. I just wanted to play stuff that jammed.

Anyway, the show was real tight. DJ Chill kills it. And this week we bring it to you in a new format. KPFT is now recording and archiving all of its shows so I am now able to grab the audio hour by hour and today I am posting it in three parts rather than just one big MP3. This will be a good thing because most of the time I stop recording at the latest 2:30 a.m. to get everything saved and uploaded and get out of the way of the next show (The Groove with Bobby Phats).

But now, like one minute after the hour, the show is placed in the archive and I can upload it right away if I want. Anyway, I would love it if you regular listeners could leave me a comment after listening to tell me which way you prefer it. Do you want it all as one big MP3 or broken down into 3 MP3's? I know these three shows took quite some time to upload, not sure how the download will be. I need to know how it works on your end. So please let me know. Leave a comment.

Cuz I can do it either way. But whatever. On to the music.

AS ALWAYS PLEASE DOWNLOAD AND LISTEN ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER. DON'T STREAM AND BLOCK UP ALL THE SERVER SPACE. Quit hatin'.

Rest in Peace DJ Screw - 7/20/71 - 11/16/00Happy Birthday Hawk

It's still goin' down man.

Rest in Peace Robert Earl Davis.

And have we solved this one yet?

Nnovember 15th, 2006, Hawk would have been 37 years old. Rest in Peace John Hawkins.

Last night's Damage Control tribute was fire. Not a lot of guests, but a lot of music. Unfortunately the upload did not complete and I gotta get to the station in the next day or so and try again. I'll get it up. Bohagon was in the house with A-Day and the Grit Boys dropped a freestyle and 2 new tracks. One featuring Hawk and one featuring BG. We also played the new UGK featuring Kool G. Rap & Big Daddy Kane, "Next Up." Man I need to get this up for y'all.

In Austin, zip codes are quite important. Especially the 2-3 (as in 78723) where a lot of the cities hottest hip-hoppers reside and thrive. Robert Gabriel put it down and handled the bitnes. Peep Basswood Lane on the cover.

Peep the article here.
