Introducing our Creative Teams for our Retreat and Festival

Creative Team = playwright, director, dramaturg

Of course, the whole lot of us are creative in some way, shape or form but we need some short-hand way to refer to our groups of artists. ;-D

We are very pleased to announce our three teams for our upcoming Playwrights Retreat and Festival of New Plays!

Tombs of the Vanishing Indian
Written by Marie Clements (Metis)
Directed by Yvette Nolan (Algonquin)
Dramaturgy by Brian Quirt

Time Immemorial
Written by Jack Dalton (Yup'ik) and Allison Warden (Inupiaq)
Directed by Jere Hodgin
Dramaturgy by Robert Caisley

On the Mangled Beam
Written by Dawn Jamieson (Cayuga)
Directed by Stephen Metcalfe
Dramaturgy by Julie Jensen

We're very fortunate to be surrounded by such talented and gifted artists. Although some of these names may look familiar (Marie joined us in LA last September for our First Look Series; Yvette enjoyed the San Diego sun during last year's retreat; Rob and Jack were mentors during the Alaska Native Playwrights Project; and Jere and Julie both participated in the 2010 National Reading Panel), we also have some new friends we'll be working with:

Brian Quirt, Artistic Director of Nightswimming
Allison Warden, Inupiaq Eskimo performance artist
Dawn Jamieson, playwright from New York
Stephen Metcalfe, who may be best known for his work on the film Pretty Woman

More information regarding each of these artists will be released as the date of the retreat nears so be sure to check back here often!

Till then!
