Homemade Shower Gel Recipes

Shower Gel Recipe for Normal Skin
Ingredients
  • Unscented Shampoo 2 cups
  • Water ½ cup
  • Rose Essential Oil 30 drops
  • Baby Oil ½ cup
Method
  • Pour the unscented shampoo in a big bowl and add to it the baby oil in a steady stream.
  • While stirring, add the water to the shampoo and oil mix.

Shower Gel Recipe for Dry Skin
Ingredients
  • Unscented Shower Gel 3 cups
  • Olive Oil ½ cup
  • Lavender Oil 30 drops
  • Chamomile Oil 30 drops
Method
  • Pour the shower gel into a big bowl and slowly stream in the olive oil.
  • Add the other essential oils too and stir the mixture till everything becomes one.
  • Pour in bottles and remember to store it in a dark and a cool place.
Variations
  • You could use pure liquid castile soap in place of unscented shower gel.
  • You may like to use geranium oil or coconut oil to this recipe too as these oils also help to moisturize dry skin.
Natural Shower Gel Recipe
Ingredients
  • Aloe Vera Gel 1 cup
  • Glycerin ½ cup
  • Jojoba Oil ¼ cup
  • Cornstarch 2 tsp
  • Sugar 2 tsp
  • Water 2 cups
  • Orange Essential Oil 20 drops
Method
  • In a bowl, combine the aloe vera gel with the glycerin. Mix the two thoroughly.
  • Stream in the water while mixing it.
  • Add the jojoba oil and ensure that all the ingredients are mixed thoroughly.
  • Add in the sugar.
  • Mix the cornstarch with some water and add this to the above mixture too.
  • Finally, blend in the essential oil and store your homemade shower gel in jars or bottles.
  • Use up the shower gel as quickly as possible.
Variations
  • Choose any other oils like almond oil, rosemary oil or any other oil of your choice to make this recipe.
  • Increase the quantity of glycerin if you have dry skin or if you plan to use this gel during the winter season.
Scented Shower Gel Recipe
Ingredients
  • Orange juice ½ cup
  • Orange Essential Oil 15 drops
  • Glycerin soap 1 bar
  • Water 1 cup
  • Glycerin 3 tsp
Method
  • Grate the glycerin bar and set aside.
  • Take a sauce pan and add the water and the orange juice. Add the grated soap and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Put the heat on simmer and allow the soap to dissolve in the water and the orange juice.
  • Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down completely before you start off with the next step.
  • Once the soap mixture has cooled down, stir in the glycerin and the essential oil.
  • Allow all the ingredients to blend well with one another and settle nicely.
  • Transfer the shower gel into jars or in spray bottles.
  • While using, ensure that the gel is liquid enough. If the gel has solidified, then heat up the bottle in a mug of hot water before use.
Variations
  • You can use any other fruit other than orange for making this soap.
  • You can use baby shampoo or liquid castile soap in place of glycerin bar.
