Bun B King of the Trill Mix CD FREE Download - TRACKLIST ADDED - Warehouse Live??? New Venue for H-Town Coming Soon?

Well, like I told you yesterday, it's Bun B month here at HoustonSoReal. His debut solo album -- after years of UGK classics -- will finally be released on Rap A Lot Records October 18th. And well, we can't wait. It certainly is reason to celebrate.

Thing is, for the past six months though, my partner, DJ Rapid Ric has been working on this here Bun B - King of the Trill CD. I actually told him when he started that he shouldn't even do it, as he had already felt the wrath of Rap A Lot when he released Z-Ro's Greatest Verses last year. O.K. there was no wrath but they did freak out and force him to take the Z-Ro disc off the shelves and I guess deliver them to Rap A Lot.

Anyway, I done told him that he wouldn't get approval for the Bun B disc, but he wanted to do it anyway, and from what he told me he's been trying to get the greenlight to release this for quite some time. Well, there's been no green light, so rather than let this little gem, this work of art, this meticulous collection of some of Bun B's Greatest Verses go to waste, we decided to let you just have it, free, no charge. No stores to bother with it, no taking virtual money out of peoples pockets, just free. Make your own CD and enjoy it. Learn why Bun B really is the King of the Underground and the Pope of Port Arthur.

That being said, Mixtapes are a huge part of hip hop, especially today, and when you have someone as talented as Rapid Ric at your disposal, you should probably use him. Rap A Lot/Asylum could have pressed this bitch and sent out promos in advance of Trill to promote it, so many things could have been done, but whatever. Ric made it, it exists, you need it, you got it. I been jammin' the hell out of it, and would love to know what you think.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

I have been chomping at the bit for some time to let this cat out of the bag. Most people know that I am quite vocal about my feelings about the few venues we have aorund Houston for live music. Well, next month, there's a new spot opening in the Warehouse District (Chinatown, across freeway from Minute Maid Park, Convention Center, right next to the old Industry Cafe) called WAREHOUSE LIVE.

From what I have seen, the place is going to be off the chain. The proprietors have vision, are looking for diverse acts to bring, and seem to be well connected. I'm not gonna go too far into it, but they have big things planned for their opening week next month.

Including but not limited to:

Saturday November 12th
Paul Wall, Bavu Blakes, DJ Rapid Ric with more acts to be announced this week.

Monday November 14th
Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Jean Grae

More info to be had at www.warehouselive.com

Both shows on sale this Saturday at 10 a.m. Tickets available at all Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone 713-629-3700, or online at Ticketmaster.com.

These shows will be held in the BIG side of the venue which I believe will be about 1500 capacity.

But there's another side. A bar side that looks to me like it'll hold about 300 (don't quote me). And well, that's where I have booked my next HoustonSoReal jump off (in Houston at least).

Friday November 25th (After the Kanye West Show)
HoustonSoReal and Oxycottontail Present
SOUTHSIDE GANGBANG
With
DJ A-Trak (Dj for Kanye West), Oxycottontail, Bavu Blakes, G.R.i.T. Boys, DJ Rapid Ric and more to be announced plus a special surprise performance you won't believe.

Anyway, I personally been praying for a new venue to hit town. One that has a small side for me and a big side for the bigger shows. They are promising to fill a huge void and I am all for it. Anyway, stay tuned. This is just the first announcement.

See you in Denmark?
