D-ShotSoReal - Peep the latest MC from the VALLE-JO!

O.K. So D-Shot is not from Houston, but for those who know their history, the connection between the Bay and Texas back in the day was extremely thick. When I was coming up you'd hear just as much music from the Click bumping out of trunks out here as you would from Rap-A-Lot. E-40, B-Legit, D-Shot, Suga T (all kin - whaddup Bomani?) all them were like so tightly intertwined with what was going on in Houston in the late 80's/early 90's especially.

Houston artists would perform and record in the Bay all day. Bay artists would be out here working like crazy too. Not sure what happened since then but... I'd like to see that bridge get reconstructed. The Paul Wall/B-Legit collabo is pretty straight and the Balance/Chamillionaire joint was cool too, but we need to hear more.

Anyway, back to D-Shot. The man has a new endeavor. Maybe you've already heard of...

Baby Hip Hop

The World's First Hip Hop Educational Doll. Feel the funky real. Boy goes hard in his black tee. Which you can also purchase in sizes up to 4XXL.

O.K. I don't know if you can order them in black, but D-Shot went all out on this one. He's got books, cups, a pillow...

A lunch bag

A blanket, poster and even, yes, you guessed it...

THROWBACK BABY HIP HOP JERSEY!

So anyway, here's a lil info I jacked from the website.

About D-Shot…..
The prominent rap artist Danell Stevens a.k.a D-Shot invented baby Hip-Hop. He is the brother of the Californian rap mogul E-40. Through careful observation of his own children, D-Shot realized that Hip-Hop can be a useful tool in teaching both normal and remedial children. The best example of this is when D-Shot's son was having trouble memorizing all fifty states and their capitals. D-Shot brought his son to the studio and recorded an educational rap song called Fifty States. The impact this song had on D-Shot's son was tremendous. It improved his ability to learn his states faster and easier by wittingly rapping about it, rather than mechanically memorizing it. The purpose of D-Shot's teaching method is to supply children with educational tools that correspond to their interests. Through this doll, D-Shot hopes to progress and evolve the imaginative minds of children who can memorize a whole rap song before thy learn how to count to twenty.

This shit is actually pretty live if you ask me. I might order one, but I'ma wait on getting a t-shirt till I can get a matching doorag.

Come down now...

It's just a little bit liver than Tampa Tony's invention:

Da Splitta!

What Dey Talm Bout???

Order a doll for your kid and a Splitta for your blunts and support REAL hip hop entrepreneurs... Man. I need to invent something. Low fat beer pills maybe.

And right here's a couple pictures I got from my man Lean Sippa. These two are from the Damage Control we did the night before Hurricane Rita when Devin came thru and it was just the three of us and Antho holding it down. Note the Down South Hustlers CD. A disc all of y'all should have.

Then here's a photo my girl Straight Flossin' sent of me at Winter Meltdown putting in work.

That's how I work. I was kind of having a discussion, related in part to this photo, with Wendy and Devin and a couple other folks in the studio in Vancouver on Tuesday. Checkmate brought in a 12 pack of Budweiser and everyone seemed to have some of that Bud that makes you wiser and well, you know, a bunch of EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL AND SUCCESSFUL people were sitting around at like 2 p.m. drinking and um, partaking and I said "Well, this is part of the reason we do what we do." We can't just be sitting in no office all day with the man breathing down our necks. If we want a beer at 2 o'clock, we want a beer at 2 o'clock and fuck 'em all.

That being said, if we have to work at 11:30 at night or some shit, we do that as well.

Fuck 'em all.

And this last one here is a flyer from DJ Chill, he wants all y'all out here in Houston and beyond to come join him for his new dope ass TV show. Club Havana is off the chain as well.

PEACE
matt
